Teal, Everyone’s Wearing It!

September 1, 2010

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and to kick-off the month this Friday, September 3, 2010, is National Wear TEAL Day.   Join us and wear teal this Friday as an important symbolic gesture and help bring attention to ovarian cancer. But go the extra step and let others know why you are wearing teal and the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

Most Common Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer:

  • Abdominal pressure, bloating, or discomfort
  • Nausea, indigestion, or gas
  • Urinary frequency, constipation, or diarrhea
  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Unexplained weight loss or gain
  • Shortness of breath

Other symptoms can include indigestion, back pain, bowel problems, abnormal bleeding or unusual fatigue. Take action if they last more than 2-3 weeks and they are unusual for you. For more information go to our website, www.herafoundation.org

In order to stop the loss of women from ovarian cancer we have got to get the word out and we need your help. Please tell all the women in your life about the symptoms of ovarian cancer,  it’s easy to start by simply forwarding this email to everyone in your address book. But we cannot stop there; we need to keep talking about the symptoms and we need to remain vigilant about supporting research and finding a cure.
So this Friday, September 3, 2010, wear your teal proud and loud; it could help save a woman’s life!
